TURLOCK, C alif. – The University of Hawaii at Hilo exits the Tournament of Champions with a 3-3 record against the NCAA Division II field following today's 6-4 win over Stanislaus State University and 8-0 loss to Cal State Chico.

In game one, Bailey Gaspar led the Vulcans (25-16) with three hits whiles Cristina Menjivar, Brandi Wilson and Danielle Pulido had two hits each.  Ruby Quiralte and Morgan Balestreri posted two hits for the Warriors (20-18).

Cyanne Fernandez (3-1) got the win in relief. Over the final three innings, she struck out one and gave up a hit and no runs nor walks. Kyle Ragsdale (12-12) took the loss for the Warriors giving up five runs on nine hits and five walks over 6.1 innings.

The Warriors led 4-1 heading in the final inning when the Vulcans posted five runs on RBI singles by Wilson and Pulido, Maria Steadmon‘s sacrifice fly and Brittany Huff‘s 2-run triple.

Chico State (27-10) exploded for seven runs on four hits in the fifth inning for the second game TKO while Haley Gilham (12-7) held the Vulcans to two hits and a walk while striking out two.

Danielle Wilson (10-8) held the Wildcats in check giving up a run on four hits and a walk before seventh.

The Vulcans take a 10-day break before heading to Oahu for PacWest doubleheader with Chaminade University on April 15 and Hawaii Pacific University on April 16.
