Pilipa’a setter Zoe Leonard (Kamehameha-Hawaii ’15) will attend Dartmouth College and play Division I volleyball in the Ivy League.
Zoe is one of three girls (Ka’iu Ahuna and Harley Woolsey) to win four consecutive B.I.I.F. titles and post three consecutive undefeated regular seasons while at Kamehameha-Hawaii. She is an original member of the Pilipa’a girls program and has been part of six Moku O Keawe Regional Championship teams, multiple Haili Championships, a 5th place finish at the SCVA Las Vegas Classic (17U), consolation championship at AAU’s (17U) and a consolation championship at the SCVA Las Vegas Classic (18U) in addition to countless tournament victories during her club career. Leonard is a PrepVolleyball.com and AAU Academic All-American. She was selected for the USA Women’s Volleyball Junior National Training team as a libero for the second year in a row and will join teammate Ka’iu Ahuna in Des Moines, Iowa this summer for a 5-day training camp followed by a Women’s Junior International Division tournament with USA Volleyball in July.
It’s a dream-come-true for Zoe to play Division I volleyball and attend a top-notch educational institution like Dartmouth and we’re proud of what she has accomplished, said Pilipa’a Girls Coach and Zoe’s father Chris Leonard.
Zoe will play for former Punahou / North Carolina standout setter Erin (Berg) Lindsey at Dartmouth.
“Zoe is a volleyball junkie. She takes advantage of every opportunity she gets to train and play. She has exceptional ball control and can help us in our serve receive and floor defense. She also has experience setting and will fill our need for a third setter on the roster,” said Coach Lindsey.
