A recent bill passed in the state of Hawaii that would allow several medical marijuana dispensaries to run in each county of the Big Island (as well as other islands). Over the weekend, committee members were unable to come to an agreement, causing the deadline to be missed.

Recently the House and Senate revived the medical marijuana dispensary legislation which extends the negotiation deadline to noon on Monday May 11.

Medical marijuana has been legal in the state of Hawaii since the year 2000. Currently, patients are to grow their own medical marijuana or have a caregiver grow it for them.
