The Big Island Sports Hall of Fame will be accepting nominees for their new wall of fame, soon to be unveiled near the theater ticket booth at the Prince Kuhio Plaza.
Minimum requirements for nominees are at least 20 years of volunteer involvement in athletics, either as a coach, teacher or mentor.
Formed in the early 90’s by Jack Matsui, the non-profit BISHOF was established to honor the achievements and contributions that have positively impacted the participants and sport for which they were nominated, and to promote and support athletic and sporting event on Hawaii Island.
BISHOF President, Jerry Chang said, “We are thankful to Prince Kuhio Plaza management for allowing us to reinstall the new wall in a more visible area of the Plaza and to KTA, the County Council and other contributors for the installation and rental fees. Nominators should send a 2 page write up of the nominee’s background, accomplishments and contributions to the community and a 8 X 10 picture (color preferred), to:

Deadline for submission is August 14, 2015 and unveiling of the new wall and banquet for new honorees will be scheduled shortly after.
