Dizzy Dean World Series Game 1:  Hawaii All Stars vs. Greenville

Hawaii All Stars and Greenville 11s volleyed the lead nine times on Saturday at the Dizzy Dean World Series in Southaven, Mississippi. Hawaii came out on top for a 8-7 win, thanks to a strong seventh inning.

Hawaii trailed 6-4 in the top of the 6th when Wailele Kane-Yates’ RBI single brought in Boston Matsu for the tying run.  In the 7th inning, Greenville scored 1, leading 7-6.  Hawaii responded when Kamren Mehau laid down a sacrifice bunt, putting Jace Hironaga in tying position. With 2 outs, Jennie Silva hit a hard ground ball to center field, plating Hironaga for the tying run. The game ended with Matsu’s hard ground ball down the 3rd base line, bringing Silva in for the win.
