After three long months, Malama Market in Pahoa reopened it's doors this past Wed. March 18. Malama Market had to close it's doors in response to the approach of the lava flow in the Puna District. Many residents in the Pahoa area have expressed great gratitude for the re-opening of the store. Before the re-opening of both Longs and now Malama Market, residents in the Pahoa area needed to drive the extra distance to Keaau or even to Hilo for grocery shopping. The reopening now provides the Pahoa area residents with the convenience of having the aisles stocked and the doors open at the Malama Market.
