The eruption at Pu‘u ‘O‘o continues to feed the distal tip 5 miles downslope, to the northeast, and the branch that continues to push into the bordering forested area to the north, BUT a significant breakout on the northern flank is taking away volume from both.

The breakout was continuing during the overflight. Only time will tell what impact this will have upon the activity at the distal tip, and the overall direction of the flow.
