The eruption of Kīlauea volcano continues to awe all visitors and Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park staff alike. The overlook at the Jaggar Museum gives a great view of the vent within the Halema'uma'u Crater.
Onlookers said late last night (Tues. April 28) that they had very little trouble getting into the park and there was no wait time when they visited after 11pm. Many people visiting Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park to view the lava lake have waited upwards of two hours in lines of traffic. The National Park urges visitors to come view the lava lake from 9pm-4am to avoid long wait times.
