Thursday November 10th marked the end of a long, 3 year – $30 million renovation to the historic Naniloa Hotel in Hilo. The Grand Naniloa Hotel debuted today as the first DoubleTree by Hilton on the Big Island.
For the past 3 years construction has been ringing through Banyan Dr. It was an amazing site to see this employee celebration today and to see how excited the employees were to represent the Hilton brand. DoubleTree not only brings the hot warm cookies you have come to love, but a working philosophy resembling that of Disney.
Mayor Kenoi welcomed Hilton to the Big Island, as he addressed some of the corporate by saying, “To have the Hilton Brand here in Hilo, is a vote of confidence. It shows the rest of the state and the rest of the world, that Hilo is a beautiful, special place, not only for us to live, but to play, and for others to come and stay. It creates economic activity that can transform our community.”
Now you can take advantage of your Hilton rewards on the Hilo side. Next time you are coming to Hilo, make sure to book your room at the new Grand Naniloa Hotel!
